Electricity tokens are tied to a meter number. A single wrong digit can mean a token for a different meter, so check the number against the meter itself before you pay.
Read the number from the meter
Copy the number from the meter or from a recent receipt, not from memory or an old message.
Check the name shown before you confirm
Where the account name is shown, check that it is the household you expect. If it is not, stop and re-enter the number.
Keep the reference and the token
Keep the payment reference and the token you receive. They are what support will ask for if something needs investigating.
Common questions
- What if I entered the wrong meter number?
- Contact support straight away with the payment reference. Do not share the token publicly.
